Mr William Dim

William Dim brings wide-ranging industry expertise to any project, and is an experienced designer who is passionate about tackling the world’s complex design challenges. An Associate Lecturer in RMIT’s School of Design, William’s research is deeply engaged with design education and reimagining learning for the contemporary period. In particular, activating learners through learner-centred strategies that emphasise collaborative problem solving, individual strengths development and self-efficacy. He leads the Safeness by Design initiative.

Professor Ian de Vere

Ian is interested in the power of design to make a positive contribution to society through social innovation and design interventions. Initially founding the initiative in 2019, Ian now heads up the School of Design at the University of Lincoln (U.K.) and is a collaborator in the Safeness by Design initiative.

Jacob Sheahan

Jacob is a PhD Candidate in the School of Design at RMIT University. Trained as an Industrial Designer, he utilises a design anthropology and interaction design skillset, focusing on the future of ageing, emerging technologies, and design for health and wellbeing. Soon to be based at the University of Edinburgh in the U.K., Jacob is a close collaborator in the Safeness by Design initiative.
